To find the best shaker bottles for a variety of uses, we tested 29 total shaker bottles at home and in the Health Lab. We evaluated each shaker bottle's design, mixing effectiveness, ease of cleaning, and value to determine the best options available. A registered dietitian on our Medical Expert Board also reviewed this article for medical and scientific accuracy regarding what to look for in a shaker bottle, its primary purpose, and who may benefit from protein shakes.

It's an excellent choice for consumers wanting a blend of capacity, innovative design, and practical functionality in their shaker bottle.

Performance-wise, the bottle efficiently mixes drinks without creating too much froth and doesn't require timing – your shake is ready in just 2 minutes, smoothly mixed with no clumps, courtesy of extended blades attached to the lid.

For some, the timing involved with a manual shaker bottle is a deterrent to using it. That’s where this blender bottle comes into play. We tested Cuisinart's RPB-100 EvolutionX Cordless Rechargeable Compact Blender, an ideal blender shaker bottle for on-the-go use. Its standout feature is the USB charging option, highlighting its cordless nature. It's simple to operate with one speed and no presets, and its slender, dark silver design is both attractive and practical. The travel lid is spill-proof, making it perfect for mobility.

Cleaning is easy, and can be done either manually or in the dishwasher. It's a handy, portable blender that is ideal for travelers or occasional use.

BlenderBottle's Insulated Stainless Steel Bottle features a double-wall insulation, designed to keep things cold for hours, and in our experience, it certainly did the trick. It also helped us to get a much more even mix of our water and collagen powder, leaving barely any collagen unmixed.

This is a durable option; it held up well through multiple washes and experienced no warping or chipping of the paint on the metal. It's also easy to disassemble and clean. We put all of the parts in the dishwasher and there was no residual odor. We also really liked that the flip cap was lockable, which worked well to prevent spills.

Another pick from BlenderBottle, its Strada Tritan Bottle is made of hard plastic that we found to be exceptionally durable. After washing it, it experienced no water stains, and it barely holds fingerprints. But what we really love is that it feels very secure when closed, and it even has a lock button to prevent leaks through the lid.

This option is easy to clean, dries fast, is dishwasher safe, and it also had no lingering odors after a cleaning. It's available in 24 and 28 ounce options. We tested the 28 ounce option and found it to not be much heavier than other shakers. It is also available in six fun colors and with nine ball color options as well for some fun customizability.

For people who prefer not to deal with a clanking mixing ball, this pick from ProMiXX is a great pick. Instead, it features a plastic grid that is built into the lid, which really works well to mix and also makes cleaning up super easy. That ease of use resulted in us being more inclined to use our shaker bottle, which in turn made us more consistent with taking our supplements.

This pick is clearly designed with intention, with a lid that is well built and that doesn't leak even when we shake it vigorously.

With only three parts, Simple Modern's Rally Protein Shaker is super easy to clean. And while it is dishwasher safe, we found it to be exceptionally easy to clean by hand. And as far as performance goes, it worked well to mix a greens drink that we found to leave a lot of residue on the bottom of other shaker bottles. Additionally, we found that this pick kept our drinks cold for hours, thanks to a stainless steel design that is also durable.

Finally, we appreciate that this pick is easy to hold, even for those with smaller hands.
