The Woody’s Lunch Box seating area at Disney’s Hollywood Studios was recently demolished, but the area is finally being reconstructed.

The original seating area was abruptly demolished last month. The walk-up counter-service restaurant remains open through the construction.

The refurbishment was unannounced, and no details for the final project have been shared, but a new look at the site shows fresh pavement in some areas.

Planters separate the area from guests. Rolling shrubs like those pictured above are often used as temporary blockades when needed at Walt Disney World.

Though not a guarantee, their presence usually indicates the project will be short-term, rendering full construction walls unnecessary. Other parts of the area are barricaded by posts with scrim wrapped around them.

A look inside the construction site shows that repaving has begun in sections of the area. Beyond the fresh pavement is a grid setup for more pavement to be poured. Construction equipment is staged across the site, and new square holes have been dug and fortified with lumber. The purpose of these holes is unknown, though it could indicate a new structure coming to the area.

One of the chief complaints about Toy Story Land is the lack of shade and seating — especially near Woody’s Lunch Box. Until Roundup Rodeo BBQ opened in 2023, Woody’s Lunch Box was the only dining venue in the land and had no covered seating.

While the seating area is closed, temporary tables have been set up near the entrance to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
